How the four directions are used
The two that matter most in a home are 生氣 (the direction to face while working or to have your front door open toward) and 天醫 (health — a good direction for the head of your bed to point). 絕命 is the one to keep bedrooms and kitchens away from where you can.
When people in the same home are in different groups
This is the norm, not a problem to solve. The usual approach is to prioritise the person the arrangement most affects room by room: the bed serves the couple, the study serves whoever works there, the kitchen serves whoever cooks. A single home cannot face every direction at once, and any advice that ignores this is simply ignoring one of the people living there.
What this tool cannot tell you
Eight Mansions is about orientation — which way you face. It says nothing about which sector of the home is currently prosperous; that is Flying Stars, and it is decided by the building, not by you. When the two disagree — a good Kua direction landing in a bad star palace — resolving it needs both charts together.
This page uses the same lookup tables and the same code as our paid reports. Nothing on it is generated by AI.
This is the arithmetic. The reading is the other half.
A chart tells you where the stars are. What it does not tell you is which room you sleep in, what stands outside that window, and what to do about it. That is what the full report is for.
